The general MBA Eligibility criteria is to score a minimum of 50% or above the equivalent CGPA upon graduation from a recognized university. Students from any stream are eligible to pursue an MBA. Once you complete your graduation, you will have to go for an MBA. There is not an upper limit to enter the MBA exam. There are certain MBA exams, like ATMA, which require students to have an age limit of at least 21 years.

The additional requirement, apart from fulfilling general MBA eligibility criteria, also includes work experience, entrance exam cut-off, and performance in group discussion, along with personal work experience.

MBA Eligibility in IIM

  • Candidates should have passed their 10+2 in any stream from a recognized Board of Education with at least 60% of marks.
  • Pass the final examinations and obtain at least 50 per cent marks in total from a recognized university. The scores should meet the minimum prescribed standard as follows: However, there will be a 5% relaxation on the minimum score for the candidates belonging to the ST/SC categories.
  • CAT and Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for international students are a must to crack for the aspirants.
  • Actually, some organizations could involve a Group Discussion round or a Personal interview round for the short-listed candidates.
  • The fee details for undertaking an MBA Exam Eligibility course in IIM are INR 8,00,000 to INR 25,00,000 on average.

MBA Eligibility Criteria in IGNOU

  • If the candidate intends to be admitted to an MBA Exam Eligibility program at IGNOU, then the candidate is required to pass 10+2 with at least 50% marks from any recognized board.
  • The candidate must have passed their bachelor’s degree in any discipline, a minimum of 50% for the general category and 45% for the reserved category.
  • For the BCE and the MCE courses, the candidates have to pass the OPENMAT aptitude test at the national level with a score of more than 65.
  • The approximate fee structure of an MBA for IGNOU is around INR 18,900 per annum.

MBA Exam Eligibility

Admission to the MBA program in India is mostly done after clearing the management entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, and XAT. All these entrance exams provide admission to various MBA colleges. Each of them has its requirements that a candidate is supposed to meet when they sit for these MBA Exam Eligibility entrance examinations.

Below are the general requirements to sit for the various MBA entrance tests:

For appearing in CAT, the candidate needs to have a minimum of a graduation degree and needs to have secured an average of 50% marks (45% for SC, ST & PwD). 1. XAT Eligibility

The candidates who wish to sit for XAT should hold a 3-year bachelor’s degree in any field from any university. XAT exam can even be written by any age group of people as there is no restriction of age limit.

2. CMAT

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level entrance test conducted by the NTA annually for admission to management courses in universities/colleges approved by the AICTE.

The CMAT eligibility criteria are mentioned below: 

  • Any candidate who possesses a bachelor’s degree i.e. 10+2+3 in any discipline, is eligible for the CMAT.
  • Last year, graduating students were also encouraged to apply for admission.
  • The placement will be given to the Indian Nationals
  • The CMAT exam has no restrictions regarding age limits.

3. ATMA 

ATMA is the national-level entrance exam that is conducted by th Association of Indian Management for admission to MBA/PGDM. The MBA Exam Eligibility for the ATMA:

  • The candidate must have completed graduation with aggregate marks of 50% or equivalent CGPA.
  • The candidates must be citizens of India.
  • The candidate must be 21 years of age.
  • The student in the final year of their graduation are eligible for ATMA.

4. OPENMAT

OPENMAT is the national-level entrance exam for admission to MBA programs from IGNOU. The exam is conducted in September. The candidates who will be eligible for the OPENMAT are as follows:

  • The candidate must have passed their bachelor’s degree in any stream from any recognized board.
  • Chartered Accountancy/Cost Accountancy/Company Secretaryship students are also being allowed to appear in OPENMAT.
  • One must have a graduation score of 50% or have an equivalent CGPA to take up the responsibilities in the umbrella. As for the reserved category students (SC/ST/PwD), they are provided with a 5% relaxation in their graduation percentage.
  • OPENMAT does not have any age restriction, and anyone interested in doing the course can appear for OPENMAT.

MBA Eligibility Abroad

MBA Abroad offers various specializations. Aspirants who are seeking an MBA from foreign universities must fulfil the eligibility requirements set by the Universities.

Candidates willing to get admission to MBA Abroad must complete a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate score of 50% from a recognized University.  They are required to gain at least 3-5 years of working experience in the same field and qualify for the required Language proficiency test.
