The Graduate Management Admission Test(GMAT) is amongst the most popular tests. The only gateway for the international MBA. It is interesting to know that the scores of this test are accepted in more than 2400 business schools for admission to their management program. The GMAT exam has been conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council for about 60 years. GMAT tests students’ ability to enrol in the world’s best business school.

The GMAT exam is a computer-based entrance examination. It is quite different from the other exams. How? You will be given the question and have to answer it appropriately. The difficulty level of the next questions depends on your answer. GMAT is gaining popularity day by day in India. Looking at the present GMAT format, you will get 80 questions that must be completed within 3 hours and 7 minutes. The question paper will have 4 sections. but the score of only 2 sections will be counted by percentile calculation.

What is GMAT Focus Edition?

GMAC has announced more aspirant-friendly changes in the GMAT exam with fewer questions, a reduction in sections from 4 to 3, a reduction in time duration to 2 hours 15 minutes and making all the sections accountable for score calculation. With all these changes, the GMAT Focus Edition has been launched with the revised nomenclature of GMAT Exam Focus Edition. 

GMAT will continue to be held until January 31, 2024.  Business School Applications and provide several options for candidates for the current rounds 1, 2, and 3. GMAT Exam remains valid for 5 years from the candidate’s appointment date.

  • Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA): This section analyses an argument and presents a well-structured, coherent essay response with a specific time period
  • Integrated Reasoning (IR): The IR section measures the ability to evaluate and analyze the data presented
  • Quantitative Reasoning (QR): The QR section tests are quite technical and require mathematical and analytical skills. The questions here are from algebra, geometry and statistics.
  • Verbal Reasoning (VR): This section covers reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction skills. It includes passages to read, questions to answer based on those passages, and questions that test English grammar and usage.

 

The GMAT is not an easy exam as the difficulty level changes according to the test taker’s answers.
